VsisRemote Privacy Policy
Summary
VsisRemote is a tool for connecting to your own servers. There is no required account, we collect no personal data, and nothing is sent to our servers. All connection information stays on your device and is encrypted before it is written to disk.
What the app stores on your device
- Connection details — display name, host, port, username, groups, tags, notes: a local SQLite database in the app's data folder.
- Credentials — passwords, SSH private keys, passphrases: encrypted, see below.
- Trusted host keys — SHA-256 fingerprints, the equivalent of
~/.ssh/known_hosts. - Settings, port-forwarding rules and snippets you create.
None of this leaves your device.
How credentials are protected
Passwords and private keys are never stored in readable form. A 256-bit key is derived with Argon2id and the data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. You choose one of two modes:
- Let the operating system hold the key (default) — Android Keystore, iOS/macOS Keychain, or Windows DPAPI.
- Set a master password — the key is derived from the password you type. We have no way to recover it if you forget it.
The connection table itself contains no secrets, only a lookup key into the encrypted store.
What the app does not do
- No analytics server, no behavioural measurement, no advertising.
- No collection of contacts, location, photos, installed apps or device identifiers.
- Your credentials are never sent anywhere.
- Session contents are never recorded to any server.
- Nothing is sold, shared or transferred to third parties.
Where the app connects
Only to the servers you enter yourself. There are no background connections. If you add no servers, the app makes no network connections at all. A few built-in snippets (for example "server public IP") run on your server and call an external service from there; your device does not take part.
Permissions
Android: INTERNET to open SSH connections to the servers you enter, and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE to detect a dropped network and reconnect. macOS: network client, and read-only access to files you explicitly pick (a key file or a file to upload). The app does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts or external storage.
Accounts (a later version)
The current version has no accounts. In a future version an account will be optional and used only to sync your connection list between your own devices. Data will be encrypted on your device before being sent, so the server only ever receives an unreadable blob; an account will never be required to use any feature, and signing out will not delete local data. This policy will be updated before that ships.
Backups
A backup file you create does contain passwords and private keys, encrypted with a backup password you choose. The file is saved wherever you put it. We never receive a copy.
Children
VsisRemote is a system administration tool. It is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes all local data. None of your data is held anywhere else, so there is nothing to request deletion of.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date.

- Khoá máy chủ đã tin — vân tay SHA-256, tương đương
~/.ssh/known_hosts. - Cài đặt, quy tắc chuyển tiếp cổng và lệnh nhanh do bạn tạo.
Không mục nào rời khỏi thiết bị của bạn.
Thông tin đăng nhập được bảo vệ thế nào
Mật khẩu và khoá riêng không bao giờ được lưu ở dạng đọc được. Khoá 256-bit dẫn xuất bằng Argon2id, dữ liệu mã hoá bằng AES-256-GCM. Bạn chọn một trong hai cách:
- Để hệ điều hành giữ khoá (mặc định) — Android Keystore, iOS/macOS Keychain, hoặc Windows DPAPI.
- Đặt mật khẩu chính — khoá dẫn xuất từ mật khẩu bạn nhập. Chúng tôi không có cách nào khôi phục nếu bạn quên.
Bảng lưu thông tin kết nối không chứa bí mật, chỉ chứa một khoá tra cứu trỏ vào kho đã mã hoá.
Ứng dụng KHÔNG làm những việc sau
- Không có máy chủ phân tích, không đo lường hành vi, không quảng cáo.
- Không thu thập danh bạ, vị trí, ảnh, danh sách ứng dụng hay mã định danh thiết bị.
- Không gửi thông tin đăng nhập của bạn đi bất cứ đâu.
- Không ghi lại nội dung phiên làm việc lên máy chủ nào.
- Không bán, chia sẻ hay chuyển dữ liệu cho bên thứ ba.
Ứng dụng kết nối tới đâu
Chỉ tới những máy chủ do chính bạn nhập vào. Không có kết nối nền nào khác. Nếu bạn không thêm máy chủ nào, ứng dụng không tạo kết nối mạng nào cả. Một số lệnh nhanh dựng sẵn (ví dụ "IP công cộng của máy chủ") chạy trên máy chủ của bạn và gọi dịch vụ bên ngoài từ đó — máy của bạn không tham gia.
Quyền ứng dụng xin
Android: INTERNET để mở kết nối SSH tới máy chủ bạn nhập, và ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE để biết khi nào mất mạng mà tự nối lại. macOS: quyền máy khách mạng, và quyền đọc những tệp bạn chủ động chọn (tệp khoá hoặc tệp để tải lên). Ứng dụng không xin quyền camera, micrô, vị trí, danh bạ hay bộ nhớ ngoài.
Tài khoản VsisRemote (sẽ có ở bản sau)
Bản hiện tại không có tài khoản. Ở bản tương lai, tài khoản là tuỳ chọn và chỉ dùng để đồng bộ danh sách kết nối giữa các thiết bị của bạn. Khi đó dữ liệu được mã hoá trên máy bạn trước khi gửi đi — máy chủ chỉ nhận được khối dữ liệu không đọc được; tài khoản không bao giờ là điều kiện để dùng bất kỳ tính năng nào; đăng xuất không xoá dữ liệu trên máy bạn. Chính sách này sẽ được cập nhật trước khi tính năng đó phát hành.
Sao lưu
Khi bạn tự tạo bản sao lưu, tệp đó có chứa mật khẩu và khoá riêng, được mã hoá bằng mật khẩu bạn tự đặt cho bản sao lưu. Tệp nằm ở nơi bạn chọn lưu. Chúng tôi không nhận được bản sao nào.
Trẻ em
Ứng dụng là công cụ quản trị hệ thống, không hướng tới trẻ em dưới 13 tuổi và không thu thập dữ liệu của bất kỳ ai.
Xoá dữ liệu
Gỡ ứng dụng là xoá sạch mọi dữ liệu cục bộ. Không có dữ liệu nào của bạn nằm ở nơi khác để phải yêu cầu xoá.
Thay đổi
Khi chính sách thay đổi, chúng tôi sẽ cập nhật trang này và ngày hiệu lực.
